Darci LaBash, MA, BCASE

Darci is a special education consultant and advocate who provides education and understanding to parents and caregivers so they can be the best advocate for their child.  She provides non-attorney advocacy for families addressing their child’s needs, IEPs, testing, and program planning.

Darci holds a Master’s in Special Education from Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT and, most recently, served as the Executive Director of AIND/Giant Steps CT School in Southport. In this role, she provided leadership in program development and ensured full compliance with policies, procedures and laws.  She ensured all aspects of service delivery, instruction, and safety at the school, which offered educational, recreational and therapeutic programming to students ages 3-21 with Autism Spectrum and related developmental disorders.

Darci’s passion for advocacy was developed during her graduate studies when she was introduced to the world of Autism.  She spent her first year, post-graduation, working at Fairfield University providing disability services to undergraduate students, assuring ADA compliance and ensuring they were able to access both their coursework as well as their environment.  After leaving the university, she spent 20+ years in the realm of Autism Spectrum Disorders.  She worked as a special education teacher, lead teacher and program specialist where she developed and implemented comprehensive educational intervention plans.

Darci is team-oriented, having worked as part of teams that included parents, medical professionals, therapists, educators and 1:1 support staff. She prides herself in creative thinking and strategizing to ensure that the student is not only receiving their appropriate programming, but is truly getting the best supports in each domain area. Darci has also provided in-home programming for students with ASD, ADHD, learning disabilities and behavioral concerns.
